William Hill Announces Changes in Leadership

Lowden's previous job between 2006 and 2009 was as CEO of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc, an international market research company. Lowden is a chartered accountant with several years of high profile experience in business management.
David Allvey, who has been holding this position already since 2002 will retire after the 2011 Annual General Meeting which will be held on the 12th of May. Lowden will also replace Allvey as chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee. The new senior independent non-executive director will be David Edmonds, also replacing David Allvey.
Gareth Davis, William Hill Plc chairman commented the following:
"I am delighted that David Lowden has agreed to join the William Hill board. His extensive experience with international companies will be an asset to the group as we pursue an agenda of innovation & international development."
He also added:
"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank David Allvey for his many years' service to William Hill. His contribution has been invaluable during a period of significant development for the group from its flotation through the Stanley acquisition, which made William Hill the UK's number one bookmaker, to the establishment & development of William Hill Online."
