New Full Tilt Poker and AGCC Hearing Scheduled
New Full Tilt Poker and AGCC Hearing Scheduled
September 5th, 2011
Full Tilt Poker has been indicted with illegal online gambling, money laundering and fraud in the US on April 15 this year. Besides the indictments, the domain name of the famous poker website was also seized but returned after a few days.
Full Tilt Poker had to agree to close all US operations and leave the country and was also obliged to return all deposited player money to former American players. Since then, Full Tilt Poker was not able to compensate its ex-US users.
The Alderney gambling Control Commission, also known as AGCC decided to suspend the gaming license of Full Tilt Poker, after the company was not able to repay US players even after several months. The company argued that several legal and financial problems prevented the venture to repay the owned money.
Full Tilt Poker representatives met with AGCC officials almost two months ago to discuss the nature of the license suspension and find a solution to the problem. Unfortunately the two parties could not agree on a possible solution, and the AGCC delayed the hearing.
In the meantime Full Tilt Poker was desperately searching for new investors. According to the company, only new investments would make it possible to repay former US players and re-launch the site that has been closed after the license suspension.
Full Tilt Poker announced some time ago that it's in intensive talks with at least six investors, but so far no positive progress has been achieved whatsoever. Several experts believe that if the company won't manage to re-launch soon, then the Full Tilt Poker brand might become damaged beyond repair.
The new meeting between the AGCC and Full Tilt Poker is aimed to find a solution, and each involved party and players alike hope for a positive ruling on September 19th. OnlineCasinoAdvice.com will continue to report on this case.
