Microgaming to Release Dark Knight Slots

Online casino game developer Microgaming was in the spotlight last week after it announced the February release of several new online slots. Now, the venture has again issued a press release commenting that it managed to strike a deal with DC Comics and will develop a video slot in the future themed after Batman.

We reported last week that online casino game developer Microgaming is about to release a huge game pack on February 8th. As the week progressed, the names of more and more games were revealed with players excitingly expecting their launch.

But probably even bigger news is the recent announcement by Microgaming that it signed an agreement with DC Entertainment that hold the copyright of the world-renowned DC Comics series. According to the deal, Microgaming will develop and online video slots that will be themed after the popular Batman franchise.

The agreement also specifies that the games to be developed will use state-of-the-art technology and will provide an innovative gaming experience both graphic and gameplay wise. The games will be tied to a specific Batman movie such as The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises and will contain clips from the movies.

The Dark Knight movie was released in 2008 and Dark Knight Rises move will be released this summer. Microgaming announced that The Dark Knight slots will be released sometimes in 2012 while its sequel will appear in 2013.

Microgaming Chief Executive Officer Roger Raatgever commented that "the Batman films are one of the most famous film series in the world, with Batman's logo internationally recognized." He further explained that it's an extraordinary achievement for his company to supply gaming software based on such a popular and famous franchise.

Besides these games, Microgaming already developed various other branded slots with the first one being the Tomb Raider series. Another successful branded slots developed by Microgaming is the first part of The Lord of the Rings series. The venture promised to release the two sequels as well sometimes in the future.
