Just after bwin.party published the not so positive performance report of the company since the merger, it also issued a statement that the company is looking forward to expand into the US as soon as online poker gets legalized.

The recent performance report of bwin.party pointed out that the company experienced a significant drop in revenue after it was created in April with the merger of bwin and Party Gaming. Some media outlets even speculated that the company might even be sold to other major online gambling ventures.

This week, bwin.party executives explained that the company is looking to expand into the US if online poker will become legalized. It was also revealed that the company already began to negotiate with potential American partners regarding deals that would make it easier for bwin.party to expand into the States.

Several news services also reported that bwin.party is in advanced negotiations with several companies in New Jersey and California, where it's very likely that online poker will be legalized in the near future.

bwin.party co-CEO Jim Ryan explained the following:

"At federal level, we are finalizing agreements with a couple of parties positioned nicely to operate in that market. In California, we are well advanced with a particular party. The same in New Jersey, consistent with where we are at a federal level."

He also commented that bwin.party brands like World Poker Tour-ClubWPT, Party Poker and Poker Room would highly benefit if online poker would be legalized in the States. He also argued that bwin.party has a big advantage over competitors Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars for the simple reason that the company was not involved in the Black Friday scandal.

During the press conference where Jin Ryan gave the above statements, he was also asked if the company is interested in investing or acquiring Full Tilt Poker. The co-CEO explained that bwin.party is not interested in any sort of deal with Full Tilt Poker.
