Crapless Craps
This version of the game is also called Bastard Craps and is much simpler than a regular game of craps. The gameplay works exactly the same, but bets and entirely different in this craps variant.
Like in regular craps, the game begins after the shooter rolled the two dices, and if the shooter hits a 7, then the pass line bettors win. If he or she throws 2, 3, 11 and 12, then the respective number will establish the point, and in order to win, the player will have to roll again the point number before a 7 gets rolled.
All the other regular craps bets are also available, but as you see on the rules described above, they are much simpler than in regular craps. But the simplicity of crapless craps is misleading, because it offers even lower winning chances than regular craps. In fact, this variant with a house edge of 5.38% offers four times lower winning chances compared to normal craps games.
Simplified Craps
This variant is even simpler than crapless craps, lacking most of the commonly found craps bets. In simplified craps, a player wins, if the shooter hits numbers 2, 3, 4, 10, 11 or 12 and loses if the shooter rolls numbers 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9. The house edge of simplified craps is 2.8%, which isn't that bad, but still not as profitable as regular craps.
High Point Craps
High point craps is more of an exotic variant of craps, where rolls of 2 or 3 are simply ignored, and the shooter has to roll again until a different value is attained. On the other hand, rolls of 11 and 12 win automatically.
If the shooter rolls a total number another than the ones mentioned above, then that respective number becomes the point. In order to win, the shooter must then roll a higher total number than the previously established point. The house edge of high point craps is 2.35%.
Die Rich Craps
This craps variant is a recent invention and contrary to other craps games it's played with only one die. But like in regular craps, the first roll is called the come out roll that if is a 6 the player wins, and if the roll is a 1, then the player loses.
Numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5 become the point numbers if they'll get rolled instead of a 1 or 6. After this, the shooter has three throws on his or her disposal in order to roll the point number again to win. If within three rolls the player doesn't rolls the point number again, he or she will lose and give over the shooter place to another player.
The craps bet payouts in this variant look the way it's described below:
Player throws 6 on 1st roll: 1 to 1
Player throws point on 2nd roll: 2 to 1
Player throws point on 3rd roll: 1 to 1
Player throws point on 4th roll: 2 to 1
Proposition bets (numbers from 1 to 6): 4 to 1
New York Craps
This craps variant was invented on the East Coast of the Unites States and offers a higher house edge than regular craps. The craps table is also totally different from a regular craps table, because it doesn't have a come or don't come area and place and space bets aren't permitted either. Players will have to bet on numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, and the casino will charge 5% of the winnings resulted from a correct bet.
Besides regular craps that is described in detail in our additional articles, these are the other most commonly found craps types available in casinos. The simplicity of some of them may even come in the help of those who don't want to place complicated bets on regular craps games right from the start. But caution is advised, because most of these spin-off craps games have a higher house edge than regular craps.
